Why the network is the system everything else depends on

The network is the most important system in a modern house, because everything else now runs on top of it, streaming, control, automation, work. When it is weak, the symptom shows up somewhere else entirely and gets blamed on the television.

Internet providers deliver speed to the property. What they do not do is deliver performance inside it. Their equipment is built for small networks, so a handful of devices work acceptably and everything past that degrades. Off-the-shelf wireless routers cannot carry current household demand and tend to need periodic rebooting to stay usable.

The gap between advertised and delivered speed is routinely large. Once devices are contending for the same air, a meaningful fraction of what you are paying for never reaches the thing you are using.

Larger houses need coverage rather than power, more access points covering less ground each, fed by wire. We carry the broadest range of networking hardware in the area, as dealers for Pakedge, Ruckus Wireless, Cisco, Araknis, Access Networks, Apple and Luxul among others, because different buildings genuinely need different answers.

A properly built network is also a security boundary. Firewalling and encryption at the edge protect the data moving across it, which matters more every year as the number of connected devices in an ordinary house keeps climbing.
