The house is the right temperature before you think about it.
Heating and cooling is the system people fight with most, usually because it was set up to be adjusted rather than to simply behave.
One thermostat that knows about the rest of the house.
Most houses here have a thermostat on each floor, a separate control for the mini-split in the addition, and a standing argument about which one is winning. We put every zone on one system, so the house is managed from one place: the keypad in the hall, the app on your phone, or a schedule that does it without you. Rooms nobody is in stop being conditioned as though they were, and the primary suite is warm at six without the whole house running to get it there.
We build this on the Savant Multistat. It is a thermostat in the sense that it sits on the wall and shows the temperature, and it is also the one place in the house that knows about the lighting, the shades and the music. The screen shows the temperature inside and out and the local forecast, and a Relax scene from the same panel dims the room, lowers the shades, starts a playlist and lights the fireplace. Its sensors watch interior and exterior temperature and humidity and the air coming back through the returns, and quietly correct for them.
Schedules are where the saving is. A set point for each room by time of day, day of the week and time of year, so the house sits at an efficient temperature while it is empty and comes back to comfortable before anyone arrives. Plans change, which is why the app matters: the adjustment people actually make is from the car, twenty minutes out.
Some rooms are not about comfort. A wine cellar, a conservatory, a room full of equipment, a pool house in January: each has a range it must stay inside, and knowing it has drifted is far cheaper than finding out afterwards. On a monitoring plan we see those rooms before you do. The Multistat works with most heating and cooling equipment, conventional or ductless, through Savant's climate relay modules, which let one panel manage more than one system in the same space. Where a system is too old to integrate, we say so before anything is ordered.
How we work
- 01
Map the zones
What equipment heats and cools what, which rooms share a system, and where the thermostats are now. Most of the time the house already has more zones than it uses.
- 02
Decide what integrates
We check the equipment against what the Multistat and its relay modules can run, and tell you plainly which units join the system and which would need a control upgrade.
- 03
Install
Multistats and relay modules by our own crew, usually at the existing thermostat locations so no walls are opened.
- 04
Set the schedules
With you, room by room: when you are up, when you are out, what the bedrooms want at night. Then the seasonal shifts, so it is not wrong by March.
- 05
Watch it through a season
The first winter tells us what the schedule missed. Adjusting it is part of a service plan, and we would rather tune it than have you override it.

Leaving and arriving
Away is one press, and so is home.
Climate belongs on the same system as the lights, the shades and the locks, so leaving the house is one action rather than four. Away sets the zones back, drops the shades on the west glass and arms what needs arming. Home, from the car, brings it all back before the door opens.
- Away and Home scenes that include the climate
- Geofencing from the phone, where you want it
- Shades on the west glass tied to the afternoon set point
- The equipment room and wine cellar watched while you are gone
Your house
Wondering what climate control would look like, and cost, in your house?
Tell us about the room or the whole house and we will come and look. The calculator gives a planning range before you talk to anyone.
At a glance
Every zone, one place
Floors, additions and the mini-split in the studio on one system, controlled from the hall, the phone or a schedule, rather than a thermostat on every wall.
Savant Multistat
A touchscreen that shows inside, outside and the forecast, and runs the whole house. Available in white or black, and it reads as hardware rather than gadget.
Set points that follow the year
By time of day, day of the week and season. Set once, revisited when the house changes, and otherwise left alone.
Beyond temperature
Relax, Dinner and Goodnight from the same panel: lights, shades, music and the fireplace, with the climate as one part of the scene.
Sensors that correct quietly
Interior and exterior temperature, humidity and return-air readings, used to keep the room where you set it without anyone noticing the work.
Rooms that must not drift
Wine, art, equipment and the pool house in winter. Ranges set, alerts on, and on a monitoring plan we see it before you do.
With Savant
The Multistat, and the phone that stands in for it.

Multistat, white
The temperature large, the outside temperature and forecast beside it, and nothing else unless you ask. Sits flat to the wall at the old thermostat location.

Multistat, black, with scenes
The same panel running the room: Relax, Dinner, Goodnight. One press changes the lights, the shades and the music along with the temperature.

From the phone
Every zone in the Savant app, the same one that runs the music and the lights. The adjustment people actually make is from the car, twenty minutes out.
Common questions
What people ask us about climate control.
- What does smart climate control actually do day to day?
- It stops the house needing to be adjusted. Each room follows a schedule that matches how the house is used, the set points shift with the seasons, and the whole thing is reachable from your phone. The thermostat becomes something you look at rather than fight with.
- Will it work with our existing heating and cooling?
- Usually. The Savant Multistat and its relay modules run most conventional furnace, boiler and air-conditioning equipment, and a good deal of ductless equipment. Older or unusual systems sometimes need a control upgrade rather than a replacement. We check before anything is ordered and tell you which one you are looking at.
- Can different rooms be different temperatures?
- That depends on how the house is zoned, not on the thermostat. Where zones exist we control each one independently. Where they do not, adding them is heating and cooling work we coordinate with your HVAC contractor rather than perform ourselves.
- Does it save money?
- Often, though we are careful about promising a number. What it reliably does is stop rooms being heated or cooled when nobody is in them, and stop the whole house running to fix one cold bedroom. Those are the two things that waste the most.
- Can we control it from away?
- Yes, and this is the feature people use most. The Savant app shows every zone, and the house can be set from the car on the way back. On a monitoring plan we can also see a zone that has drifted and tell you, or fix it, before you get home.
- What about the wine cellar or the pool house in winter?
- Those are the rooms this is really for. Each gets a range it has to stay inside and an alert when it leaves it. A wine cellar that warmed up over a long weekend, or a pool house pipe that froze, costs a great deal more than the monitoring that would have caught it.
- Does it have to be Savant?
- For us, yes, because it is the one thermostat that knows about the rest of the house. A stand-alone smart thermostat is fine at being a thermostat. The Multistat is also the panel that runs the lights, the shades and the music in that room, which is the whole point of putting climate on the system rather than beside it.
“We have been using them for many years. They are always polite, timely, creative and reasonable. Most importantly, they provide quality service. Highly recommended.”
Afterwards
Looked after by the people who installed it.
Our own crew does the work, so the number you call afterwards is the same one you called at the start. Equipment carries its manufacturer's warranty and we handle those claims rather than handing you a phone number. A service plan adds monitoring, next-business-day response and scheduled visits on top.
