Smart Home Control · Westchester & Fairfield County

One way to run the house, not a drawer of apps.

Smart home does not mean more to manage. Done properly, it means fewer decisions and fewer things to remember.

One way to run the house.

We build most systems on Savant because it brings lighting, shades, climate, music, video and door access under a single hand, and because it still performs a decade on. Alongside it we keep a deliberately short list of manufacturers, among them Sonos and Lutron, so that each home receives what genuinely suits it rather than whatever happens to sit on our shelves.

Programming is where a system earns its keep. Good Morning, Away, Dinner and Goodnight are composed for your household, not lifted from a template, and we return after you have lived with them through a season to refine whatever did not quite fit.

Climate belongs to this conversation as well: multiple zones governed from one controller, setbacks while the house is empty, rooms already comfortable by the time you arrive, and a quiet eye on the wine cellar from wherever you happen to be.

Music is part of it

The same app plays the house.

Savant treats music as another thing the house does. Pick a room, pick a source, and the Sonos in the family room, the in-ceiling speakers on the terrace and the hi-fi in the study all answer to the same screen.

  • Every zone in one list, grouped or separate
  • Sonos, streaming services and a turntable as sources
  • Scenes that bring music up with the lights
  • Volume limits for the rooms that need them

Your house

Wondering what smart home control would look like, and cost, in your house?

Tell us about the room or the whole house and we will come and look. The calculator gives a planning range before you talk to anyone.

With Savant

Every way to reach the house.

Common questions

What people ask us about smart home control.

Does a smart home mean more to manage, not less?
Done badly, yes, and that is what most people have seen. Done properly it means fewer decisions: one way to run the house that everyone living in it can use, instead of four remotes and an app for each device.
Can everything run from one app?
Usually, and it is generally the right goal. We will also tell you where a keypad on the wall beats an app, which is more often than this industry likes to admit. A guest should be able to turn the music on without downloading anything.
What if we already have some smart devices?
Bring them into the conversation. Some integrate cleanly and stay. Some are better replaced. We will tell you which is which rather than quietly charging you to replace things that were working.
Is Savant the only option?
No, but it is the platform we specify most often and the one our crew knows deepest. The right platform depends on the house, what is already in it and how far you want to take things.
What happens when the technology moves on?
Firmware and manufacturers' clouds keep changing whether anyone asks them to. A service plan is how we stay ahead of that, so the house behaves the same way in year six as it did the week we handed it over.
Can the family actually use it?
That is the test we care about. We sit down with the whole household at handover and go through it until everyone can work it, and we come back if a new routine needs building in.
“Wonderful company to work with – knowledgeable, professional staff. Bob spent a great deal of time going through all of the available choices for my husband & myself. The whole system is controlled with a remote that even I can use with ease.”

Afterwards

Looked after by the people who installed it.

Our own crew does the work, so the number you call afterwards is the same one you called at the start. Equipment carries its manufacturer's warranty and we handle those claims rather than handing you a phone number. A service plan adds monitoring, next-business-day response and scheduled visits on top.
