Showroom

Sit in it before you buy it.

Everything we sell is on the floor in Armonk, working. Visits are by appointment so someone who knows the systems is with you, and there is no pitch at the end of it.

What a showroom is for

Most of the decisions in a smart home are tactile. Whether a keypad feels right under your hand, how loud a shade motor is at night, whether a speaker in the ceiling sounds like a speaker in the ceiling, and whether the theater seat is comfortable after the first act. None of that survives a brochure. So we keep a room in Armonk where it is all set up and running, a short drive from most of the houses we work in.

We also use it to show you what not to buy. A good showroom visit usually ends with a shorter list than it started with.

CinemaTech seating on display in the Westchester AV showroom in Armonk

On the floor

Six things worth the drive.

  • Savant, on the wall and in your hand

A working system: the app, a keypad, a remote, and the scenes that run a real room. The fastest way to find out whether you like living with it.

  • Lutron keypads you can press

Palladiom in glass and metal, Alisse in brass, Sunnata on a painted wall. Engraving, backlight and the feel of the button matter more than the brochure suggests.

  • Shades that move

Roller and Roman on Lutron motors, hard-wired and battery, so you can hear how quiet quiet actually is and see the fabric with light behind it.

  • CinemaTech seating

The only CinemaTech seating on display in Westchester or Fairfield County. Sit in it for twenty minutes. That is how a seating decision should be made.

  • Speakers you cannot see

Sonance architectural and invisible speakers, installed the way they would be in your ceiling, playing. Bring the music you know.

  • A proper listen

KEF, Sonus faber and Bowers & Wilkins set up to be heard rather than looked at. Bring a record or a playlist and take your time.

Who it is for

Homeowners mid-project

Plans are drawn, the electrician wants answers, and nobody has pressed a keypad yet. An hour here settles most of the choices that are hard to settle on paper.

Architects and designers with a client

Bring them. Finishes, keypad locations, shade fabrics and what a flush speaker looks like in a real ceiling are easier to agree on in a room than in a PDF.

Anyone deciding on a theater

Seating is the part people regret. Sit in it, see the screen size at the real distance, and hear the difference acoustic treatment makes.

Before you visit

Tell us what the house is, and we will have the right things running when you arrive.

A sentence about the project is enough. If you have drawings, send them and we will have read them first.

Start a project

Tell us about the space. We'll come out and give you a straightforward plan.

The consultation is complimentary and it starts with a walkthrough or a set of drawings. You will leave it knowing what is realistic in your house, what it costs, and what can wait until phase two.

We answer within one business day. No mailing list, no drip campaign.
