Air Quality · Westchester & Fairfield County
The air in the house, measured rather than assumed.
Most houses have no idea what their air is doing. A monitor that reads the room and drives the filtration is a small change that people notice within a week.
What is actually being measured, and what happens next.
A proper monitor, and the one we specify is the Daikin One, reads airborne particulates and the chemicals that come off furniture, paint, cleaning products and cooking, along with temperature, humidity and pressure. It learns what normal looks like in your house over a week or so, and then tells you when a room has drifted from it. That alone is worth something, because the usual experience of bad air is a vague headache in a room nobody suspects.
The part that matters more is what happens with that reading. A plug-in purifier cleans the room it is standing in. A monitor tied into the house drives the filtration and ventilation you already have, so the whole house responds rather than one corner of it. Better filtration on the air handler, ventilation where the house is tight enough to need it, and humidity held in the range that keeps both people and millwork comfortable.
This county makes a specific case for it. Houses here are shut for a good part of the year, so whatever is in the air stays in it. Spring pollen is heavy, older houses have had a lot of things done to them over a long time, and newer ones are built tight enough that they need deliberate ventilation rather than the accidental kind that comes with draughty windows.
Where it gets genuinely useful is when it stops being a separate app. Air quality and climate sit in the same place as the lighting, the shades and the music, and can join the scenes the house already runs, so ventilation steps up when the kitchen is busy or overnight when everyone is asleep. That is also the honest limit: how far this integrates depends on what heating and cooling equipment you already have, and on older or mixed systems we will tell you plainly what it would take to get there rather than quoting around it.

Filtration, ventilation and the air handler as one
The monitor is the small part. What makes it useful is that it drives equipment you already have, so the whole house responds rather than one room with a box in the corner.
Common questions
What people ask us about air quality.
- Is this not just an air purifier?
- No, and the difference is the point. A purifier cleans the room it stands in and knows nothing about the rest of the house. This senses the air and drives the home's own filtration and ventilation, so the response is whole-house. A portable unit can still sit alongside it in a room that needs extra help.
- What does it actually measure?
- Airborne particulates and volatile organic compounds, which is the technical name for what comes off paint, furniture, cleaning products and cooking, plus temperature, humidity and pressure. It establishes your house's baseline over about a week and reports against that rather than a generic number.
- Will it work with our heating system?
- That depends entirely on what you have. The full version is built around a Daikin One system paired with the furnace or air handler, good filtration, and a powered ventilator where it fits. If your system is older or a mixture of ages, we will tell you honestly what it would take rather than implying it drops straight in.
- One monitor or several?
- Either, and it depends on the house. A single monitor covers a zone well. A larger or multi-zone house is better served room by room, reported back to one place so you can see the whole house rather than guessing which room is the problem.
- How is this different from your climate control page?
- Climate control is about temperature and zoning: the right rooms at the right temperature at the right time. This is about what is in the air rather than how warm it is. They use overlapping equipment and most houses that want one end up wanting both, so we usually design them together.
- Is it worth it in an older house?
- Often more so. Older houses in this county have had decades of work done to them, and they tend to be either draughty in the wrong places or sealed up in the wrong places. Measuring first is cheap, and it stops you spending on the wrong fix.
Afterwards
Looked after by the people who installed it.
Our own crew does the work, so the number you call afterwards is the same one you called at the start. Equipment carries its manufacturer's warranty and we handle those claims rather than handing you a phone number. A service plan adds monitoring, next-business-day response and scheduled visits on top.
