Somers is two towns in one: Heritage Hills' condominiums, with their own rules and their own kind of work, and the farms and acreage along the old roads toward Lincolndale and Granite Springs.
Heritage Hills is condominium living with a view, and the work there is specific: shades for the glass, music and a screen in the living room, lighting at the existing switches, and a network that does not depend on the association's. We know what the buildings allow and plan to it.
On the farms and larger properties the problems are distance and power. Buried cable to the barn and the guest house, and Savant Power with the generator on the same plan for the outages that take this corner of the county down for days.
In between are the family houses of the 1970s to the 2000s, which usually want the standard set done well: a media room on the lower level, Wi-Fi that covers the house, music in the kitchen and outdoors.

- Can you get internet to outbuildings?
- Yes, with buried cable or fibre and a proper access point in each. Wireless across a field is a last resort and we rarely need it.
- What about power outages?
- Battery storage sized to the circuits you care about, with the generator for longer outages. Savant Power manages the switch so the house carries on and the app tells you what is running.
