The county seat, and houses that have seen a few owners.

White Plains is the one place in the county with real apartment living alongside the neighbourhoods, and we do both: a condominium near the station and a 1920s house in Gedney or Rosedale ask for very different work.

In the neighbourhoods, Gedney Farms, Rosedale, Highlands, North Broadway, the houses are solid 1920s to 1950s colonials and Tudors, and the work is retrofit done without damage: lighting control at the existing switches, music in the rooms that get used, and Wi-Fi that handles plaster. These houses have had several owners and the wiring tells the story. We sort it out before we add to it.

In the towers and condominiums downtown the constraints are different: no attic, concrete, a building management company with opinions, and a view that deserves shades that move on their own. We have done this often enough to know what the building will allow before we propose anything.

White Plains also has a lot of people working from home in rooms that were never offices, and a surprising amount of our work here is simply making the network reliable enough for the day job. It is unglamorous and it matters more than anything else in the house.

The showroom is fifteen minutes north on 120. For a city house or an apartment it is worth the drive to see what a properly done room looks and sounds like.

Common questions

Questions we get from White Plains homeowners.

Do you work in condominiums and apartments?
Yes. Shades, lighting, audio and a proper network, with the building's rules respected and the work scheduled around them. Concrete and no attic change how we route things, not whether we can.
Our house has layers of old wiring from previous owners. Is that a problem?
It is normal, and we deal with it first. We trace what is there, keep what is sound and remove what is not, so the new system sits on something reliable.
We both work from home. What matters most?
The network, by a distance. Wired where things stay still, access points placed to measurements, and a switch that can be managed from our office so a bad morning is fixed before the first call.
