The lower river villages, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings and Ardsley, are Victorians and 1920s houses on steep streets with the river below, and families who came up from the city and want the house to work without a project.
These are tall old houses on hills, and they share one problem: Wi-Fi that is fine on the floor with the router and useless two floors up. The fix is wired access points on each floor, placed to measurements, and it is the first thing we do in most houses here.
After that, the requests are a family's: music in the kitchen and on the porch, lighting that gets the ground floor ready for the evening on one button, and a screen in the family room that sounds right without a wall of equipment.
A lot of these houses are being renovated at any given moment, and the most useful thing we say is: call before the walls close. Wire into open framing costs a fraction of what it does later.
The lower river towns are the far edge of our territory from Armonk, about thirty-five minutes, and we say so. On a service plan most faults are fixed from the office; when a visit is needed it is our own crew, not a subcontractor.
