River views, old villages, and houses on the hill.
Irvington is the river towns at their best: Victorians and shingle houses in the village, estates on the hill with the Hudson below, and a lot of people who moved up from the city for exactly that.
The view is the point of most Irvington houses, and the work follows it. West-facing glass that is spectacular at sunset and hot all afternoon wants shades on a sun schedule. Terraces that look at the river want sound that stays on the terrace. Landscape lighting here should show the trees and the stone, never the fixture.
The village houses are tall, old and plaster, which means Wi-Fi is job one, done with wired access points on each floor. After that, lighting control that needs no new wire and music in the kitchen and on the porch.
Irvington has a lot of renovations going on at any moment, and the single most useful thing we can say is: call before the walls close. Running wire into open framing costs a fraction of what it costs afterwards.
It is about half an hour from the Armonk showroom across the county. On a service plan most faults are cleared from the office; when someone has to come, it is our own crew.

Common questions
Questions we get from Irvington homeowners.
- Can shades handle a west-facing river view?
- Yes, on a schedule tied to the sun's position, so they close before the room heats and open when the light moves. The fabric keeps the view and loses the glare. Quiet motors, and the pockets set properly if the walls are open.
- Our village house has terrible Wi-Fi. Why?
- Plaster, lath, three floors and a router in the basement. A wired access point on each floor, placed to measurements, solves it permanently. No router does.
- How far are you from Irvington?
- About thirty minutes from Armonk. We say so plainly. Most problems on a service plan are fixed remotely, and when a visit is needed it is us who come.
