Pelham Manor, the village, and houses built to last.
Pelham is the southern end of our territory: the Manor's big 1920s houses near the water, the village's colonials and Tudors, and a lot of families who moved up from the city and want the house to simply work.
Manor houses are large, old and well built, and that is both the pleasure and the problem. Wi-Fi that reaches every floor needs wired access points, not a stronger router. Lighting control goes in at the existing switches. Music goes in with speakers that disappear into the ceiling. The craft is in getting wire through a 1920s house without anyone being able to tell afterwards.
In the village the houses are smaller and the ask is more focused: a family room screen that sounds right, music in the kitchen, and a network that handles two people working from home and children streaming at the same time.
The Manor is close enough to the Sound that outdoor equipment has to be chosen for salt. We specify brass and marine-grade outdoor speakers and landscape fixtures for exactly that reason.
Pelham is about half an hour from the showroom. We say so plainly. On a service plan we see most problems from the office; for anything that needs a visit, it is our own crew.

- Our Wi-Fi is terrible upstairs. What is the fix?
- A wired access point on each floor, placed to measurements taken in your house. Plaster and lath stop wireless signal and no router overcomes it. This is the first job in most Pelham houses.
- Can you do a media room without it looking like one?
- Yes. A screen that stands up to daylight, speakers you cannot see, and lighting that drops the room into film mode and back again on one button. The room stays a family room.
- How far away are you?
- About thirty minutes, from Armonk. Close enough for a visit this week, and most faults on a plan are cleared from the office before you have noticed.
